RT is a volumetric examination method capable of examining the entire specimen rather than just the surface. It is a method to examine completed welds for surface and subsurface discontinuities. It is also commonly used to determine the extent of external/ internal corrosion in two situations whether in-service or out-of-service, where other NDT (UT, etc.) cannot be performed due to constraint in geometry of the pipe sections.
